BOSTenergies International Menstrual Hygiene Day CSR Programme 2026
In commemoration of International Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026, BOSTenergies, under the inspiration of Managing Director Mr Afetsi Awoonor, launched an impactful CSR initiative championing menstrual health education and hygiene support for adolescent girls across Ghana.

Managing Director Mr Afetsi Awoonor expressed his pride in the initiative, stating: “Programmes like this are vital for empowering young girls in underserved communities. These girls are our future leaders, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that something as natural as menstruation never stands in the way of their potential or their education.”
Implemented in partnership with the BOSTenergies Ladies Association (BOSTLa), the Health and Human Resource department deployed volunteers to schools in communities surrounding BOSTenergies depots nationwide, spanning Akosombo, Mami Water, Kpone, Kumasi, Savelugu, Buipe, Bolgatanga, and Accra (Head Office). Volunteers conducted educational sessions on menstrual hygiene, personal health, and self-esteem whilst distributing sanitary pads, hand sanitisers, tissue paper, and essential hygiene items.

Emmanuel Mettle-Nunoo Jnr, CSR Manager, noted that the initiative aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s Reset Agenda, particularly its commitment to keeping girls in school through access to free sanitary products.
Elinda Akosua Agyei, GM of Business Support Services, emphasised that menstrual health education directly boosts girls’ confidence, wellbeing, and academic participation. Anita Serwaa Ochere Darko, Health Manager, reinforced best practices in menstrual health management, whilst Beatrice Boateng, President of BOSTenergies Ladies Association, delivered a powerful message: menstruation must never be a barrier to education.

The programme drew widespread praise from community stakeholders. The Ghana Education Service Director for the Asuogyaman District, Mrs Evelyn Awo Ofori, described it as unprecedented in scale for the district, and Mr Obodai, Headmaster of Kpone Presbyterian School, lauded BOSTenergies for its unwavering commitment to the girl child.
Through this initiative, BOSTenergies reaffirms its dedication to gender equality, girls’ education, and dignified menstrual health, building communities where every girl can learn and thrive without compromise.
